We all make mistakes.
Nobody knows everything.
We’re only human.
“To whoever’s reading this, don’t be too hard on yourself. Nobody’s perfect. We all make mistakes. All we can do is learn from them.”
I’m 100% guilty of beating myself up about things I do. Whenever I do something silly, embarassing or get harshly criticized, I beat myself up about it. Pretty bad, I might add. I’m my own biggest critic. I mentally beat myself up & it’s a very unhealthy thing to do. I play the scenario over & over & over in my head until I can’t think anymore.
- Why did I do that?
- I’m so stupid.
- I’m so embarassing.
- I just wanna crawl under a rock.
- I hope nobody noticed.
Those are just some things I tell myself when I re-play every “stupid” moment that I can think of.
Life feels like it’s a competition sometimes, doesn’t it? Woman get so jealous when another woman does better then her. I’m guilty of this, 100%. I get it, it’s hard to applaud someone else other than yourself. I get it. It’s a very hard thing to do. It’s definitely something that every individual has to work on.
I tend to ask myself these questions when I’m comparing my life to others.
- Why did she get a higher mark on the test?
- Why does she have beautiful skin & I don’t?
- Why is she so popular?
- I wanna run faster then her.
- How is she skinnier then I am?
Why do we torture ourselves by comparing ourselves to others? Don’t ask me.
I don’t have the answer,
I thought you did.
It’s a very hard thing to realize & admit to yourself. I get this too. It’s most definitely not something you can change overnight. It’s something to work at, every minute of everyday.
Don’t be so hard on yourself. That’s the bottom line of this rant. Love yourself, chase your dreams & don’t be afraid to applaud other woman and men when they also crush their dreams.
